Since its founding in 1993, St. Mary’s Center has strategically adapted to meet community needs and is now one of the largest agencies in Massachusetts addressing the complex issues and root causes of family homelessness. St. Mary’s Center operates as a center for collaboration, offering shelter, transitional and permanent housing, basic needs assistance, and critical wrap-around support services for over 500 of Boston’s most vulnerable women, children, and families annually.
Through multiple sites across Boston, St. Mary’s Center provides a welcoming environment with resources needed to create pathways out of poverty for families experiencing homelessness, through both residential programs and wrap-around supportive services.
Acutely aware that shelter is not enough to erase the devastation of cyclical poverty and homelessness, St. Mary's Center supports families through a resiliency-based approach, assessing their unique needs based on their individual life experiences. Through four pillars of support St. Mary's Center provides the specific supportive services needed to propel families towards their personal goals and a sustainable future.
