Individual Volunteer Opportunities

The types of volunteer opportunities at St. Mary’s Center vary widely. Whether you work directly with programs or “behind the scenes" with our development team, your contribution will make a difference for women, children, and families of St. Mary’s Center.

Community event support for holidays and other on-campus activities

Become a Horizons Playspace Play PAL:
The Playspace Program gives volunteers the opportunity to give back to their community in a meaningful way that works with their schedule – just two hours, one evening a week makes a difference for a child living at St. Mary's Center. Volunteers are supported by a dedicated team of staff committed to the success of the volunteers, the program, and the families we serve.

Donation Drives for In-Kind Items: Donation drives are a wonderful opportunity for volunteers of all ages to engage in meaningful service as a community and to see the results of your efforts in a unique way. Before donating, please review this list to ensure that your donated items can be accepted, and please note, all donations must be new (unused.)

Wish List:

Full-size toiletries: including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, toothpaste and toothbrushes
Household essentials: including twin size comforters, sheets, pillows, towel sets, pots & pans, utensils
Baby items: including clothing size newborn-2T, swaddles, pacifiers, diapers and wipes, toys
Clothing: Children's sizes for boys and girls of all sizes, women's clothing size XS-XXL
Gift cards of any denomination to Stop & Shop, Shaw's/Star Market, Visa, Mastercard, and Target

Items we are unable to accept: Anything gently used, books, furniture and larger household goods, medical supplies, handmade clothing or blankets, or food products.

For gently used items, we recommend the following resources:
